What’s next from Pishtech
Expanding and improving the existing Pishtech fishing games is my current focus. Real World Fly Fishing is growing steadily with new content from fans, and I’ve got quite a few more outings photographed that will soon be available as more free add-ons for the game. In time Pishtech’s Ice Fishing Derby will get additional lakes and possibly artificial lures. VR Sportfishing will continue to get more new lakes, some rivers, new species of fish, and more rigs for bait. Also on the list for that game is hiking for shore fishing and wading, and better support for trolling. Perhaps in time it will even expand to include saltwater fishing.
I often hear from Mac users wondering if and when Mac versions of Pishtech games will be available. As an independent game developer I don’t have the resources to produce versions of the game for multiple platforms, so for the foreseeable future all Pishtech games will be developed for Windows. Fortunately many newer Macs are now able to run Windows, so they’re fully capable of running these games.
Similarly I’ve been asked about a version for the Nintendo Wii, and the same applies. While I don’t plan to offer Wii games anytime soon, I’d encourage you to have a look at the Stix 200 game controller. It’s a wireless motion sensing controller for the PC and it makes a great fishing game controller. Real World Fly Fishing and VR Sportfishing currently support the Stix 200 controller.
I believe in improving and supporting products over time, which is why I’m not currently working on another entirely new game. The big game companies often publish a game and then release some new content for it a year later, declaring it a new game and inviting you to pay the full game price for it again. While I may not be able to do everything the big companies can do (you won’t see Pishtech ads on TV anytime soon) I like to think I can do better than them at certain things. One of those is to thank existing customers by making updates and add-ons to Pishtech games available for free.
